Roman Reigns Goes Up Against Samoa Joe For Shot At Brock Lesnar And WWE Universal Title
Wrestling superstar Roman Reigns gets his chance to back up his boastful claims as the “number 1 contender for SummerSlam” when he goes up against Samoa Joe on next week’s WWE Raw.
Reigns, who, according to a previous Inquistr article, also claimed that he “cannot be beaten one-on-one,” and Samoa Joe were on hand during Monday Night Raw to confront Brock Lesnar and argue their cases as the rightful challenger for the WWE Universal Championship. As it stands, both Reigns and Samoa Joe will have their chances to go on and fight the Beast at the SummerSlam 2017.
During the confrontation, General Manager Kurt Angle decided to let Reigns and Samoa Joe decide for themselves who should wrestle Lesnar for the WWE title. The two will duke it out on the ring on July 17 with the winner going on to fight Lesnar in Brooklyn.
However, Bleacher Report speculated that this may not be the case as some sort of controversy will likely take place during or after the match. Bleacher Report believes that Braun Strowman will probably make an appearance or at least make a case for himself as a worthy contender. This scenario may possibly lead to a Fatal-4 Way which Bleacher Report believes to be necessary to prevent another singles matchups between Lesnar and Reigns or Samoa Joe. Lesnar previously defeated Reigns and Joe in separate matchups, particularly at the WrestleMania 31 and the recent Great Balls of Fire, respectively.
Both Reigns and Samoa Joe are coming from devastating losses. Samoa Joe gave a good account of himself before losing to Lesnar while Reigns lost to Strowman during their Ambulance Match. Both WWE stars are aching for a victory which will likely ensure that next week’s match will be an interesting one.
After announcing the match between Reigns and Samoa Joe, Angle and WWE color commentator Corey Graves both received a text message that got them worried. Apparently, Angle is being blackmailed by someone who knows something which made the Raw General Manager worry about his family and career. According to Cageside Seats,Angle will go public next week to reveal his controversial secret. Angle will “tell the whole world” his secret together with an anonymous person whom he was speaking to over the phone.
This means there’s something else to look forward to in the WWE next week aside from the match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe.
